Qualifications

There is nothing high tech or complicated about running a maid service. That is not to say that everybody can do it but you don’t have to have a PhD in scrubbology to be a success. What you need are systems. Cleaning systems to make sure employees deliver a quality product that keeps the customer coming back for more and office systems to keep track of new business, cleaning schedules and employees. You also need good people skills because running a maid service is basically managing people, customers and employees. It’s your job to find out what the customer wants and make sure the employee delivers what that customer wants.

Business Support

Managing your business is so much easier with professional help and support from people who have plenty of experience in operating that business. We provide a dedicated software system that runs all aspects of the business including customer and employee database, job scheduling, customer accounts and employee payroll. In addition there is a comprehensive manual of guidance together with a DVD used to educate new business owners and train new employees in the A to Z of cleaning. From the minute you set foot in America we are there to guide and assist you in preparing for the grand opening of your new business venture. We are with you all through opening week interviewing and hiring your first employees. When prospective customers call for an estimate you know you will have an expert right alongside guiding you through the pricing process for an eight bedroom mansion or a two bedroom apartment.

The support continues long after you become a seasoned business owner, in fact for as long as you own the business. It is YOUR business: we are your private consulting firm available whenever you need us. This is an invaluable benefit not available to people who buy an individual business.

Relocation Support

As a member of the Royal Maid family you will also receive a wealth of information about moving to America. In our experience schooling and housing are the two major concerns for families coming to the US. Because we don’t sell houses or invest in the school system our advice is unbiased and based on almost twenty years of living in the States. How to get a driving license, a social security card, what about a credit card, can I open a bank account ? When you buy a Royal Maid franchise all this valuable information is yours free of charge and we never collect a referral fee from anybody we recommend. Our aim is to make your transition as smooth as possible so that you can concentrate on building a healthy business.

Fees

We charge $1.60 per qualified household and a qualified household is one with an income of $70,000 and up, per annum. We do not charge an ongoing Royalty fee. Most franchise fees normally run at 6% of gross income per annum with additional advertising costs that can push the annual percentage rate up to as high as 10%. That means if your business earns $200,000 in a year you will pay $20,000 to the franchisor. We charge a flat rate of $2,700 per annum regardless of how much you earn. When you work hard to grow your business you should get to keep the rewards.
